Various sources have him saying he just hated it and was nervous throughout. He got Kahn on a plane for the next ones. Those first couple shows he's playing his electric bass, which, to me, sounded fantastic.

In another thread here recently someone posted a link to "China Doll" from the Passaic show. It mostly sounded good but Jerry seemed lost trying to play a solo with no one playing the chords and rhythm behind him.

Well, that's it, I think. Jerry's not a rhythm player. He fundamentally likes to play lead/solo guitar, and for that you need someone else to play with.
